Minnesota Child Care Resource and Referral agencies offer three types of child care referral services. An enhanced phone referral is also available for a fee.

Parents may access the free online referral at www.mnchildcare.org, or they can contact their local Child Care Resource and Referral agency for Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.

Resources for Child Caring is part of a nationwide child care resource and referral system (also known as a CCR&R;). CCR&R; agencies support the early childhood professional by filling vacancies with parent referrals; improving programs through technical assistance, training, and grants; and increasing marketability and knowledge through research, assessments, and links to community resources.

CCR&Rs; also maintain the child care database and connect with parents through referrals and links with agencies and businesses. Staff can link providers to information on licensing regulations, zoning requirements, opportunities for small business loans, and grant opportunities.

The new statewide structure of the CCR&R; system includes 19 local CCR&R; agencies providing baseline services such as provider recruitment, collaborations, working with community members and training, and grants advisory committees. Six geographic service districts will provide training coordination; referrals to parents looking for child care; data collection; technical assistance, information, and resources to communities; and grants administration.

For more information on Anoka County Community Action Program CCR&R;, visit www.accap.org. For more information on Washington County Community Services, visit www.co.washington.mn.us. Outside Anoka, Ramsey, and Washington Counties, contact the Minnesota Child Care Resource and Referral Network (MN CCR&R;) at www.mnchildcare.org or the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies at www.naccrra.org.

All information received from a parent or guardian for a child care search is confidential. Parent names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or other information regarding children will not be shared without written consent.

Internet Self Search is an online child care database containing over 10,000 providers in Minnesota. This state-of-the-art database is updated regularly by local child care resource and referral agencies.

Resources for Child Caring offers over 300 classes each year, covering a variety of topics. Many classes may be of interest to parents. View our latest listing of training opportunities for parents.
